Welcome to our Patient Portal, which will provide you with electronic access to your medical information. Please note that if you were previously enrolled in the Patient Portal prior to February 9, 2016, then you will need to register for the new portal.

Using our secure portal you will be able to:

  • Manage personal and insurance information
  • Send secure messages to our staff
  • Set up appointment reminders (text or email)
  • View your diagnostic reports and images
  • Pay your bill

Things To Know Prior To An Exam

  • Please bring the referral form from your physician with you to your appointment.
  • Bring your health insurance card and photo ID with you to your appointment.
  • If you have had prior imaging exams done elsewhere, please bring the films/CD and reports with you to your appointment.
  • Please leave valuables at home. We cannot be held responsible for lost belongings.
  • If there is a possibility that you could be pregnant, please inform our staff prior to your appointment.
  • Children under age 12 cannot be left unattended or accompany you into the exam room.
  • Please give us 24 hours advance notice if you need to reschedule your appointment.

Exam Preparations

Some exams require preparation prior to your appointment. Please check the prep instructions below. Patients who are improperly prepared for their exam may need to be rescheduled.

CT (Cat Scan)

If you are having a contrast-enhanced examination, please notify us prior to your exam of any of the following as they could interfere with your exam:

  • Diabetes
  • Kidney Disease (past or present)
  • Allergy to Iodine or shellfish
  • Past allergic reaction to contrast
  • Age 60 or older – LAB WORK REQUIRED

CT Abdomen and/or Pelvis with Contrast: A prep kit is available from North Valley Advanced Imaging or from your doctor. Please pick up at least 24 hours prior to your exam and follow the instructions.

Mammography and/or Breast Ultrasound
  • Please do not wear deodorants, powders, or perfumes on the day of your exam.
  • Please wear a two piece outfit if possible.
  • Bring or have any prior mammogram films/CD sent to Chico Breast Care Center for comparison.
  • Please let us know if you have any implanted medical devices – IMPLANT ID CARD may be required.
  • Metal implants or accessories may not be allowed in the magnet. Please leave metal hair accessories and valuables at home.

If you are having a contrast-enhanced examination, please notify us prior to your exam of any of the following as they could interfere with your exam:

  • Diabetes
  • Kidney Disease (past or present)
  • Age 60 or older – LAB WORK REQUIRED
  • Please inform our staff prior to your appointment if your are diabetic.
  • Avoid eating anything for at least 4-6 hours prior to your scan, including sugar-free gum, mints, candy, and beverages other than water.
  • Take any needed medication that you can take without food.
  • No strenuous exercise (working out, jogging, etc.) the day before and the day of your exam.
  • Bring or have a copy sent to us of your most recent x-ray, CT, or MRI reports.
Ultrasound (Abdominal)
  • Nothing by mouth after midnight or 8 hours prior to your exam.
Ultrasound (Bladder, Fetal, Kidney, Pelvic)
  • Drink 32 ounces (1 quart) of water 1 1/2 hours prior to appointment, finishing 1 hour prior to appointment. Do not urinate. You need a full bladder for this exam.
Ultrasound (Thyroid)
  • Please wear a shirt with a low neckline or one that opens in the front if possible.
